Is it just a name and art style differences or does each factions have special and different benefits, or disadvantages etc?

I think the Luxons sounds cool in the wiki. I did not find any difference other than location and the look of the city.

the lux are nomadic and move from location to location as the kurs stay more in one location.
* All members of the alliance can identify each other. The guild tag of allied guilds appears in gold while in outposts. * All members of the allied guilds may talk on alliance chat. * All members of the alliance can visit each other's Guild Hall and participate in scrimmages and guild battles. * While Alliances are now used primarily to create a grouping of like minded guilds, for those with Guild Wars: Factions it is possible to ally with either the Kurzick or Luxon and through a process of faction farming gain control of one of the many outposts. While this requires a lot of effort, the alliance with the most faction can gain control of their respective nation's capital city and with it one of the Elite Missions. With the release of Guild Wars: Nightfall the prestige associated with town ownership has lowered, but control over the capital cities is still highly sought after. * It is possible to treat alliances as one big guild (to expand amount of members), as seen in the Guild of the Week winning DAD Alliance and in The Imperial Guards Alliance (alliance roster shown in the picture)

Farming Faction with the Kurzicks/Luxons
The main purpose of this type of farming is to amass Faction with the Kurzicks or Luxons. Faction farming is commonly practiced by members of an alliance trying to increase their Alliance Faction with either nation.
For each side, there are a few areas that players go to farm faction. These are:
* Competitive Missions: Fort Aspenwood and The Jade Quarry. * Challenge Missions: Altrumm Ruins, Amatz Basin, Zos Shivros Channel and The Aurios Mines. * Alliance Battles * Repeating PvE quests over and over. This tends to be the fastest way, but also is targeted by ArenaNet to tone down the speed by which players can gather faction. * Blessing of the Kurzicks and Blessing of the Luxons, available respectively in explorable areas of the Echovald Forest and the Jade Sea, provide faction per kill with bonuses awarded for defeating bosses.

In 1072, the Kurzicks are locked in continuous feud with their arch-enemy, the Luxons.
The conflict goes back two centuries, to the death of Emperor Angsiyan. Before that time, Kurzick and Luxons used to tolerate each other, and even cooperated. The Emperor's murderer Shiro Tagachi was brought to justice by the joined forces of the Kurzick champion Saint Viktor and the Luxon champion Archemorus. Unfortunately both of them were killed by the Jade Wind and the Kurzicks and the Luxons got into an argument over the circumstances of the event, both claiming the laurels for their people, which eventually sparked the war among them.
Right after the war began the two sides also separated their habitats: The Kurzick entrenched in the Echovald while the Luxon settled in the Jade Sea area. Locations along the borderline between these regions, such as Fort Aspenwood, The Jade Quarry or the Harvest Temple in the Unwaking Waters are fiercely fought over to this day.
Both factions have delegates (and even spies) in the court of their liege lord, the Emperor of Cantha. The Emperor manipulates both sides, keeping them in a stalemate to guarantee that neither gains supremacy and that their never-ending squabble does not harm the empire.

The Kurzicks are a spiritual people who see signs in everything around them. Divination and foreseeing the future have a prominent place in their culture. According to their own words they respect innovation and creation above all else. Their society is a church-state governed by the Council of Nobles who stipulate laws and make decisions based on the guidance of their spiritual leaders, the Redemptors. Furthermore there are five Great Houses, noble families with great influence on the Kurzick nation, with lineages that can be traced to the earliest history of Cantha and beyond.
Note: That the Kurzicks are a nation of their own, with a culture separate from both the Canthans and the Luxons becomes very clear because of their distinctive look and language, which is very different from the typical Asian-inspired Canthan theme. Their look can be described as "gothic", wearing quaint robes/suits and hairstyle. Their preferred colors are grey and purple. Kurzick names are inspired by European rather than Asian languages, using typical names, words and phonetics from Germanic and Slavic languages. The Kurzicks do, however, have some Asian influences, such as their Kabuki inspired hair and makeup.

The Luxons have always been a nomadic, seafaring people. Since the Jade Wind turned the waters of the Jade Sea into solid jade, the Luxons have learned to take advantage of the situation and specialized in mining the solid sea for treasures. Their ships are now no more driven by the wind, but pulled by giant turtles. Even after the event they stuck to their nomadic lifestyle, living in tents and light huts that can easily be moved to settle in a new location.
The culture seems to be related to that of ancient Greece, having taken on much of the nomenclature and nautical sensibilities of the Greeks. The time period of this would most likely correlate to the Dark Ages of the Greeks, the time during which the Dorians decimated Greek civilization.
The Luxons split up into three large clans: The Serpent, the Turtle and the Crab. These clans often clash in skirmishes to demonstrate their power, for the Luxons respect strength above all else. Such skirmishes take place between champions on opposing sides accompanied by their elite guards. Despite the competition among the clans they are still united as one nation, both in governance by the Council of Elders and in war against the Kurzicks.
The Luxons deitified the Three Queens and worships them alongside the Gods of Tyria.
Unlike their Kurzick foes, who live in the cool shade of the Echovald Forest, the Luxons are exposed to the strong sun and winds of the Canthan sea. As protection against these elements they wear distinctively draped clothes

What evidence? It is just lore and background story. I see no difference other than location and mission. Overall they are all the same, other than background and location. The city on both sides are there and even the info about the both sides are about the same, except one has a background of being nomads and the other is settled. Background and lore does not really effect gameplay. I do not see and special advantages or disadvantages such as unquie powers etc. So I really see no evidence or differences, other than the preference on the art of the city and the story behind it.
Or did I miss something?
